The Point | Saranac Lake, New York
The Point is a private estate located at Upper Saranac Lake in upstate New York. Its 10-acre location is kept in secret until reservations are confirmed and payment is completed. The Point has been nominated as one of the most luxurious honeymoon destinations by Forbes Magazine in 2005.
Originally known as Camp Wonundra, The Point actually is William Avery Rockefeller’s summer vacation home. The Point consisted of 11 guest rooms scattered among four main buildings. None of it has a television and phone that connects to outside world. The only rotary phone by the bed only reaches other guest rooms and staff.
Dining menu will be planned and served by Chef Kevin McCarthy, 3-michelin –star chef Albert Roux disciple. Every meal is personalized according to each people preference. Camp activities include hiking, horseback riding, snow-showing and ice fishing. Nightly rates start at $1350-$2600 per suite and if all properties are booked (11 guest rooms), it cost $23,312.50 per night including taxes.
