North Island | Seychelles
North Island is a private resort in an island located 21 miles northwest of Mahe, the capital of Seychelles, in the Indian Ocean. North Island has won several awards and accolades, including Conde Nast Traveler Top 12 Green List (2007), “No 1 of the World, Best of the Best Category” by 9th Conde Nast Readers Award (2006), Ranked #1 Best Hotel on Earth by Harpers and Queen as well as reviewed by Travel and Leisure, Ouote’s and Organic Lifestyle Magazine.
North Island consists of 11 villas features a kitchen, open-air living and dining rooms, a master bedroom, a lounge that can be converted into a second bedroom, indoor and outdoor showers, a massage table and concrete soaking tub. Dining options will includes hot and spicy fish soup, red snapper, chicken curry and any other exotic gourmet, and can be served either inside your villa or in the sand at open-air restaurant.
Hotel activities consists of sea kayaking, gym, biking, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing charters and snorkeling expeditions to 22 nearby sites, hiking and walking around the island. You may also visit Silhouette Island to see old plantation house, copra processing plant, or meet Ron Gerlach, Seychelles ecologist who run a dangerous breeding program for Giant tortoise and Terrapin. If you are lucky, you can see turtle eggs being incubated.
