Germany celebrates many festivals whole year but Oktoberfest is the famous and most enjoyed festival among all. Everywhere there is laughter, dancing, singing, clattering noise. The environment is completely filled with fun and excitement. The start of the festival was marked on 12th October, 1810 when the prince named Ludwig 1 married a princess. All the residents of the Munich were invited for the celebration, it lasted for 5 days and the celebration was ended with a horse race.
Slowly there were some evolvements made in this fest and now it’s the world largest festival where the count of visitors is 6 million. The main festival is organized in Munich but the near by towns and cities also celebrate it. People planning to take part in the Oktoberfest must book their seats well in advance because if you arrive without any reservation of tent, then it would not be possible for you to find a place.

However the most spectacular event of Munich is the Oktoberfest. It is an annual event which is celebrated late in the month of September at Theresienwiese. The fest starts with a parade, where a traditional horse drives the beer wagons, accompanied by the families of the Mayor.
It is originally a folk & beer festival of this region. The festival is like one big carnival where people from all parts of Germany gather to take part in the various rides and events that accompany this event.
The major attractions of Oktoberfest are the beer tents which are an ideal place for alcohol lovers to indulge themselves. Six major breweries of Germany operate in those beer tents.
The drinking sessions are accompanied by drinking songs like “Oom Pa Pa” which resonate throughout the atmosphere.
